Beneath the Bristol Observatory on Clifton Down is a tunnel which travels steeply downwards before opening out onto St Vincent's Rocks on the cliff face of Clifton Gorge.
This cave was first mentioned as being a chapel in the year A.D. 305 and excavations have revealed that it has been both a holy place and a place of refuge at various times in its history.
The acoustics were very interesting... including my puffing and panting during the negotiation of the steep steps!
